    How we handle it

Your CV is read to produce your score. The file is not stored. Your score opens only on this browser, for 30 minutes. Create a free account or sign in within that time and the reading stays in your account until you delete it; otherwise we delete it after 24 hours. The text of your CV is held, encrypted, with your score for those 30 minutes, so a free account made in that time saves it to your CVs; otherwise it is deleted. The reading holds the skills found, figures and advice, plus the AI review and opener, which are written from your CV and can repeat details from it, and up to three short lines of your CV (120 characters each at most) that show where the opener came from. To write the AI review and opener, the text of your CV and the advert is sent to Anthropic, which runs the Claude AI model for us.

What a recruiter's software reads from your CV

What the searchability checks look at

Whether agency systems can file and find your CV: the contact details in its body, standard section headings, one date format, the job title, and each term written the way a search asks for it, with the line to change.

How recruiters really find a CV

In the UK, contract and temp work mostly goes through agencies. Your CV becomes a record in their database, and recruiters search it by title, skill words and location. The hard filter is usually a screening question, such as right to work, clearance or a licence, not the words in your CV.

Your match against the advert

Every skill the advert names, whether your CV shows it, and what adding it is worth. The match figure is worked out by Fitread's own code, never AI. Add a skill only if you really have it.
