How we handle it
Your CV is read to produce your score. The file is not stored. Your score opens only on this browser, for 30 minutes. Create a free account or sign in within that time and the reading stays in your account until you delete it; otherwise we delete it after 24 hours. The text of your CV is held, encrypted, with your score for those 30 minutes, so a free account made in that time saves it to your CVs; otherwise it is deleted. The reading holds the skills found, figures and advice, plus the AI review and opener, which are written from your CV and can repeat details from it, and up to three short lines of your CV (120 characters each at most) that show where the opener came from. To write the AI review and opener, the text of your CV and the advert is sent to Anthropic, which runs the Claude AI model for us.

Our code compares the skills the advert names with the skills your CV shows. 70 points for the advert's skills your CV shows, 15 for the advert's title, and 15 for the sector when your CV's own field is the advert's (8 when it is close). A part we cannot read is left out and the rest is scaled to 100. If your CV doesn't show a skill the advert calls essential, the rate stays under half. The AI review is written around that number and cannot change it.
No. It reads any CV against any UK advert: contract, temp or permanent, in any sector. It started with UK contracts.
Not if you are signed out: the file is read in memory and discarded, and only the reading (skills found, figures and advice) is kept, for 24 hours, then deleted. A free score from the home page opens only on the browser you used, for 30 minutes; sign up then to keep it. Signed in, every reading saves its CV in your CV manager, kept until you delete it; you can delete readings and CVs at any time.

No. Every job is free on its company's own page, and so are applying there and job alerts. Job Match is free with a shorter list, and Auto apply uses credits. Pro pays for tools: more readings, every fix, the Editor, openers, LinkedIn drafts and interview prep.
It is the median advertised day rate for the role in live UK contract adverts this month. We show it only when at least 20 adverts give a day rate, and we print the number of adverts and the month beside it. It is what adverts offer, not what contractors are paid. A temp or permanent advert shows its pay exactly as stated instead; we do not compare a salary with the market.
