Fitread Ltd
About Fitread
A CV reading you can inspect: the advert, the evidence in your CV, and the checks behind each finding.
Who builds and runs it
Fitread is built by the developers behind ContractorUK, Avery Favretto. It is a service of Fitread Ltd. It starts with UK contracts and also reads CVs for temp and permanent work, across disciplines.

What you can check, and how
Page checked against the Fitread code on 28 September 2026.
Where the data comes from
A reading starts with your CV and the advert you choose or paste. Live advert facts come from the company's own job page; pasted facts stay as supplied. A missing figure is left out. A date beside a count tells you when that count was measured.
Advertised pay is not take-home pay or a promise of an offer. Contract market comparisons need a qualifying sample; temp and permanent readings show their own job-type facts.
Public examples label the fictional CV and the recorded advert. The guide's source register separates measured figures from documented system behaviour and editorial advice.
How the score works
The scorer allocates up to 70 points to recognised advert skills, 15 to the role title and 15 to the sector. A CV reading uses the advert's sector. Sparse skill evidence can cap the result, and a skill the advert calls essential that the CV does not show keeps it under half; eligibility facts do not earn skill points.
Its bands are Low, Partial, Good and Strong. Strong starts at 70. These are match bands, not a probability of an interview or a hiring decision. The reading shows the inputs so you can check them.
What the AI does
Anthropic provides the Claude models used for Fitread's AI review and writing suggestions. Those outputs are labelled “Written by AI”. AI does not calculate or change the match score.
Suggested claims are checked against the CV and, where the tool allows it, evidence you type. Unsupported skills, names, dates and numbers are removed. That is a text check, not verification of your work history: check a draft yourself before using it.
Deterministic CV and letter checks work without a model call. Fitread never applies to a job unless you ask it to.
Editorial standards and your CV
We label examples, retain source dates and show how a figure was counted. We leave unknown facts unknown and keep your own placeholders for you to complete. We do not claim that an employer uses a system without documented evidence.
A signed-out CV file is read and discarded in the same request. A guest reading lasts for 24 hours. Signed in, every reading saves its CV in your CV manager until you delete it. Read about your data.

Different systems do different jobs
Where a UK CV goes after you press Apply.
Agency CRMs
Recruiters keep candidate records, notes and a searchable CV history alongside their client work.
Multiposters
An agency can send one advert to several job boards and route replies back to its recruitment system.
Employer ATS
An employer can collect an application, ask its own questions and track progress through its hiring stages.
CV databases
Recruiters search stored CV text and fields. Clear headings and accurate role and skill words help them read what you did.
These are roles, not a claim about which product any employer uses. See the documented systems and their sources, last checked 26 September 2026.
